Luka Garza supported Caitlin Clark for the Rookie of the Year trophy
In the last week of the WNBA regular season, it was pretty obvious that Caitlin Clark would win the Rookie of the Year award ahead of Angel Reese. While Reese exited the season with 34 games under her belt, Clark led her team into the playoffs.
One of the supporters for Caitlin Clark's candidacy for the award was Luka Garza. According to Athlon Sports, the Timberwolves player said that while Reese was an amazing talent, he was going to side with the former Iowa star.
"Caitlin Clark. She's an incredible worker," Garza said. "She's done so much for the sport. Angel's obviously an amazing player. I'm a big fan of her as well. But for me, I gotta go with Caitlin."
Luka Garza made the most of the opportunity when the Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Denver Nuggets for the final preseason game. He erupted for 29 points in the game against Nikola Jokic and the Co.
Garza started the game at the center position along with Rob Dillingham, who was picked 8th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
