Candace Parker keeps Kobe Bryant's daughter Gianna's memory alive with touching postÂ
Even though it's been almost a full five years since Kobe and Gianna Bryant were tragically killed in a helicopter accident, wnba/candace-parker" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Candace Parker is still inspired by Gigi. In a heartfelt post on her Instagram story, the WNBA legend showed off two silicone wristbands that she wears.
One of the wristbands, which Bronny James wore during his first practice with the Lakers, features the hashtag #PlayGigisWay.
Along with a photo of the wristband, Parker wrote:
"Whenever I need inspo I look at my wrist"
It's unclear where the wristband is currently being sold, however, it looks like it isn't listed on the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation web store. Despite that, the foundation's online store at shop.mambaandmambacita.org does feature a number of products, with proceeds going to youth sports.
In a post back in April of 2023, the wristband appeared in a post on Vanessa Bryant's Instagram page, where it can be seen sitting on top of a shoebox. In the post, Vanessa said that all proceeds from sales of the Nike Birthday Princess box were going to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Looking back at Candace Parker's training session with Mini Mamba Bianka Bryant this summer
Although Kobe Bryant is no longer around to coach his second-youngest daughter Bianka or teach her the game of basketball, WNBA legend Candace Parker is carrying on his legacy.
This past summer, Parker shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Bianka Bryant on the court together, getting some training in. In the photo, Bianka can be seen with picture-perfect shooting form, while Parker stands under the basket coaching her.
The three-time WNBA champ posted the photo to her Instagram story along with the caption:
"Look at the wrist loaded under the ball... On her toes.... Basketball in her blood! #MiniMamba Aunty Candace is so proud of you BB and you too COACH @vanessabryant"
The moment was a full-circle one for both Parker and WNBA fans alike. Years before, when Parker was still tearing it up on the court, footage of her training with Kobe went viral as the NBA legend was seen giving her pointers.
Now retired, Parker is passing her knowledge on to the next generation of hoopers.
