Cardinals QB Kyler Murray drops emoji response to Devin Booker's latest IG post
Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns celebrated his gold medal on Instagram by dropping an old comment about joining Team USA. He won his second Olympic gold medal and played a vital role in the United States' triumph over France.
In a post on Instagram, Booker shared an image of himself wearing his gold medal. Coach Steve Kerr called the Suns guard the "unsung MVP" of Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He played great on both ends of the floor, and there was no drama surrounding him.
"I'll do it," Booker wrote.
Devin Booker was alluding to an old tweet last year when a fan tweeted that Team USA doesn't need NBA stars who can't play a role.
Booker played his role perfectly by playing hard on defense and taking shots when needed. He had to change his style of play, considering he was playing with the best American players in the world.
Several people commented on Booker's post, including Arizona Cardinals star quarterback Kyler Murray, who put a salute emoji. Murray and Booker are two of the biggest sports stars in the state, so it's great that they are supporting each other.
Booker and the Phoenix Suns are coming off a disappointing season, getting swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. The Timberwolves retooled their roster, improving their depth, as they hope to get the best out of their star trio of Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.
Meanwhile, Murray had a mediocre campaign as the Cardinals finished 8-8. The Cardinals will hope to make the playoffs in this upcoming season.
Devin Booker praises Steph Curry after teaming up at the Olympics
Devin Booker did all the right things for Team USA in their run to the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He defended the best perimeter players of opposing teams, while being ready to shoot or score. He was an unsung hero and was praised by fans, players and coaches.
Meanwhile, Steph Curry was on fire in the final two games. Curry scorched Serbia in the semifinals, scoring 36 points in the team's come-from-behind win. He then put up 12 points in the final three minutes of the final against France.
Curry knocked down four 3-point shots to seal the deal and the gold medal. After the game, Booker had nothing but praise for the Golden State Warriors superstar.
"He's the best shooter to ever live," Booker said.
Following a brief offseason, Booker and Curry will be rivals again as the Warriors and Suns battle it out in the Western Conference.
