Career 28.6% 3-pt shooter Giannis Antetokounmpo claims he’s still “chasing” Khris Middleton’s milestone after breaking 20th franchise record
After breaking 20 franchise records for the Milwaukee Bucks, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is still after one milestone held by his longest-tenured teammate, Khris Middleton.
Middleton owns the Bucks' 3-point shooting record after making 1,347 triples. Ray Allen is second with 1,051. Among active players on the Bucks, Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton rank fourth and fifth, respectively, with 698 and 565 3s as a Buck. Giannis, who is ninth with 528 3s, claimed he's still chasing Middleton's record after the Bucks' 123-100 win against the Utah Jazz on Thursday.
"Yeah, I'm still chasing it," Giannis said. "One day, it's gonna happen."

Giannis was obviously joking about it. He's aware that 3-point shooting is not one of his strongest suits. Giannis is a career 28.9% 3-point shooter. He was initially efficient from deep in his career, but the numbers kept dropping yearly as his playing position changed, and he became one of the best post-players of the generation.
Giannis still has 20 records he's proud of, and the latest one came on Thursday after he surpassed Marques Johnson for the most offensive rebounds in franchise history. Six of his 16 rebounds came on the offensive glass, the exact number he needed to pass Johnson. Giannis now sits alone atop this statistical category with 1,468 offensive rebounds.
Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't take his Bucks' records for granted
Giannis Antetokounmpo is everything the Bucks could have asked for in a franchise player. He's worked relentlessly to put Milwaukee back on top after years of mediocrity. Giannis even led them to their first championship after 50 years in 2021. He's done that while being great individually and breaking 20 franchise records.
However, the "Greek Freak" remains humble about his accolades. After passing Marques Johnson for the most offensive rebounds in Bucks history, Giannis said:
"I never take anything for granted. I'm happy."
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks haven't had the best of starts to the season. So as happy as he was about breaking another record, he was more content with getting a win.
"I'm more happy we got a win," Giannis said.
It was only the Bucks' second win of the year in eight games. After beating the shorthanded 76ers in their season opener, the Bucks endured six consecutive losses.
That came despite Giannis Antetokounmpo's MVP-caliber production, as he averaged 31.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, shooting 63.3%. Giannis and the Bucks hope to continue this momentum and bag a consecutive win at home against the Knicks on Friday.
