Carmelo Anthony's ex Mia Burks breathes joy of relief as daughter Genesis Harlo Anthony smiles for portraits

Carmelo Anthony's ex, Mia Burks, actively posts pictures of her daughter, Genesis Harlo Anthony, on her social media. Earlier on Friday, Burks shared that Genesis Harlo Anthony was in no mood for pictures when she had to pose for the camera.

However, Burks was relieved once the pictures came back. She expressed her joy with an Instagram story featuring Genesis Harlo Anthony's portrait pictures and captioned it:

"The way she acted like she didn't want to take any pictures ... *just happy they came back with smiles."

Genesis Harlo Anthony turned seven in August. She had a New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony-themed birthday celebration. Melo was also present at his daughter's birthday.

Genesis Harlo Anthony is Carmelo's second child. He had her while still married to actress La La Anthony. The former NBA star also has a 17-year-old son, Kiyan Anthony, with the actress.

Carmelo Anthony's ex, Mia Burks, had a proud mother moment watching her daughter Genesis Harlow Anthony solve maths problems from a higher grade. On Friday, she posted a picture of her daughter re-arranging two and three-digit numbers in increasing order.

"Still practicing math a grade level above," she captioned the post.

Burks' relationship with Melo became one of the biggest talking points in the NBA in 2017. He was then playing for the New York Knicks before he was traded to the OKC Thunder.

In April 2017, TMZ Sports reported that Burks worked as a stripper in a club in New York City. However, a friend of Burks dismissed the claims and told Page Six that Burks worked in the education industry. He also maintained that Burks and Melo met at a club in NYC.

The rocky marriage between La La Anthony and Melo took the first public wrong turn in 2017 when the couple separated, following the reports of Mia Burks getting pregnant with Melo's child. However, they got back together a year later. The couple finally got divorced in 2021.

In an interview with Charlamagne Tha God in 2022, La La Anthony said that had she decided to stay in the marriage, it would have been an easy decision for her. She said walking away from the marriage was difficult because being married with a kid was her comfort zone.

Carmelo and La La Anthony have refrained from discussing Mia Burks and her daughter with Melo. The 2025 Hall of Fame nominee publicly acknowledged Genesis Harlo Anthony for the first time in his retirement video.
