Carmelo Anthony shares upbeat message with son Kiyan from Paris

Carmelo Anthony is enjoying his time in France watching the 2024 Paris Olympics with his son Kiyan. The Anthonys are taking the offseason to bond, with Kiyan gearing up for his senior season in high school. The NBA legend also shared an upbeat message to his followers on social media.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Carmelo composed a short and positive message for everyone. The future Hall of Famer also shared a photo of himself laughing with Kiyan, enjoying the quarterfinals of the men's basketball tournament inside the Accor Arena in Paris.

"When you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return. Reste Melo #Paris2024," Carmelo tweeted.

Carmelo Anthony watched several quarterfinal games, including France vs. Canada and Team USA vs. Brazil. Anthony greeted several players including Nicolas Batum and Steph Curry before the start of their respective games. He even dapped up fellow NBA legends such as Dwyane Wade, Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki.

It was a star-studded event since it was the knockout rounds of the basketball tournament. Germany booked its ticket to the semifinals with a come-from-behind win over Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece. Nikola Jokic's Serbia did the same thing against Australia in its overtime victory.

The game was also close between France and Canada before Victor Wembanyama blocked Dillon Brooks' shot late in the fourth quarter, which stopped the Maple Leaf comeback. Team USA dominated Brazil to set up a semifinal matchup against Serbia.

Carmelo Anthony was also on hand to watch Kevin Durant break Lisa Leslie's Olympic scoring record. Durant captured the men's record in the Tokyo Olympics, passing Anthony. KD is also set to break a tie between him and Melo for the most gold medals for a male basketball player if Team USA prevails.

Kiyan is likely one-and-done in college and should be part of the 2026 NBA draft class along with Bryce James. Here's what the 17-year-old forward said on his father's "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast about battling Bronny in the league:

"We could play against each other like we played against each other in high school," Kiyan Anthony says at 6:07.

Kiyan is in his senior year at Long Island Lutheran High School. He already has been linked to college programs such as Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers and USC, as per 247 Sports.
