"Clark is 0-12 with Pacers": Magic fans praise lucky charm Angel Reese as Franz Wagner and co are 2-0 with Sky star in attendance
Angel Reese has become a good luck charm for sports teams this year, with her attendance at home games coinciding with wins. The Chicago Sky star extended this lucky streak to 9-0 when she was at the Orlando Magic's 111-100 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. This is the second time Franz Wagner, who led the scoring at 30 points, has enjoyed a win in her presence.
After the game, fans on X/Twitter praised Reese, with some even throwing playful shade at her rival, Caitlin Clark:
"Clark is 0-12 with pacers btw."
"You are the good luck charm!!" Another fan added.
Many others began a passionate appeal to her to extend the luck by visiting their team's home games.
"Please come to the next Grizzlies game vs the Lakers or Warriors in a Grizz jersey," a fan commented.
"Angel please come to a cowboys game," a fan asked.
The barrage of love continued:
"Not you having the magic touch. Be at all the Celtics games for me please and thanks," another fan wrote.
"If this is about what I think it is, yea sista we NEED HER," a fan mentioned.
The last time Angel Reese visited a Magic home game, they won 94-90 against the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 13. Post-game, the team tweeted a message to her:
"Thx for coming thru @Reese10Angel."
The Magic, still without the injured Paolo Banchero, have now won eight of nine games. Franz Wagner stepped up once again, topping the player statistics chart with 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while shooting 50% from the field.
Angel Reese broke and set numerous records during her maiden WNBA season. She was tagged "Queen of Rebounds" by her fans and ended the season with 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark Team USA Olympic roster debate re-visited by Tiffany Hayes
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark were omitted from Team USA's Olympic roster much to the disappointment of fans. Although the discussion surrounding their snub died down after Team USA's win, the topic was re-visited by Las Vegas Aces veteran Tiffany Hayes on Monday on "The Progress Report" podcast.
"That's been happening for forever," Hayes said. "The youngest people coming in, they feel like they need to get that opportunity right away. But everybody who was on that team had to work their way onto that team.
"So I don't know why people think that they should be able to skip steps to go straight there. I'm not saying they're not good. They're great players but everybody has to do the steps, like there's levels to it." [38:58]
Although Reese and Clark were not selected this time, by 2028, both will be veterans. As Reese said after the WNBA All-Star Game in July, where the All-Star team, which included the two, beat Team USA, she's excited to play alongside Clark as a teammate in the next Olympic Games.
