Comedian Jon Stewart dares Jalen Brunson to wear 'Jew Boy' Giants jersey over Giants vs Eagles bet
Comedian Jon Stewart was Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s guest in the latest episode of the “Roommates Show.” The New York Knicks teammates took their acts to Central Park for a Block Party. Brunson and Hart couldn’t have picked a more engaging guest who is a die-hard Knicks fan.
During the show, Brunson, a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles supporter, offered Stewart a wager. The NBA All-Star guard had his money on the Eagles beating the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 20.
Jon Stewart took Jalen Brunson’s bet but added a clincher:
“If the New York Giants win, Jalen Brunson, during the game, has to wear a New York Giants jersey that says ‘Jew Boy’ on the back.’”
The fans inside Rumsey Playfield erupted in cheers, hoping a Giants win so Brunson could do as Stewart asked.
Jalen Brunson had a counteroffer for Jon Stewart before a bet was agreed on:
“If we [Eagles] do win, you don’t have to wear my jersey. You have to wear a Saquon Barkley jersey.”
The Grammy Award-winning host fell on his knees when Brunson named his terms of the bet. Barkley was a Giants star before taking his talents to the Eagles starting this year.
New York’s season opener will be on the road against the Boston Celtics on Oct. 22, two days after the Eagles-Giants matchup.
Jon Stewart claimed he was “getting too old” after watching Jalen Brunson’s Knicks lose Game 5 to 76ers
New York’s rivalry with Philadelphia doesn’t just stop with the Giants and the Eagles in the NFL. It is as consuming in the NBA, particularly in the playoffs when the Knicks and the 76ers meet, a showdown that happened last season.
The stars, including Jon Stewart, descended in May 2024 on Madison Square Garden to watch Jalen Brunson and the Knicks face Philadelphia in Game 5. A win by the Knicks in that game would have ended the series and sent the Sixers on vacation.
The Knicks had a 96-90 lead with 28.2 seconds left in the game. Tyrese Maxey hit a 3-pointer before making the bonus free throw. Josh Hart was fouled but made just one of two attempts, giving New York a 97-94 lead with 15.1 to go.
Jalen Brunson and the Knicks failed to corral Maxey who made a mind-boggling 34-footer to send the game into overtime.
Jon Stewart likely felt what every Knicks fan experienced. The comedian posted on X, (formerly Twitter):
“Respect to Maxey…but damn…I’m clearly getting too old for this shit…”
The New York Knicks eventually won in six games but not before Stewart aged by a few years after Game 5.
