Comedian uses Bronny James reason to snub LeBron James' GOAT case: "Just wanted to play with his son"
Comedian Aries Spears has used the Lakers' drafting Bronny James as the latest argument to favor Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate against LeBron James. Spears isn't a fan of how things have been in LA in the LeBron era.
He believes the four-time MVP will end his career with four rings to Jordan's six while playing out his final year with his son and potentially not making the playoffs.
Spears thinks if LeBron's final year will be remembered for only teaming with his son, who he claims was drafted because of 'nepotism,' then there's little to no chance the Lakers star passes MJ on his all-time list.
"Don't know how much longer this window is for LeBron, and the general feeling is, you know, wink wink, he just wanted to play with his son," Spears said on VladTV's episode released on Sunday. "Once he's accomplished that, basically he's about to retire.
"If this is how he goes out- son on the team, they don't make the playoffs, or they don't win the championship. The only one he had was the 'Bubble.' And he has a total of what now, four rings, miss me with the better than Jordan s**t."
Aries Spears snubbed LeBron James' all-time scoring record and other milestones, hinting that's part of his longevity and shouldn't be valid to dethrone Michael Jordan as the greatest player ever.

Aries Spears raised doubts about the legitimacy of LeBron James' fourth championship and first with the LA Lakers in the 'Orlando Bubble.' It was a strange season as the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to pause the regular season and restart at Disney World in Orlando.
While discussing the Lakers in the LeBron James era, Spears went down memory lane of all the questionable decisions made by the franchise and dissed the 'Bubble' championship, saying:
"LeBron having all this control ... The one year they got all those geysers (2021-22), to form like Voltron, where there was just a bunch of old used-to-be-good players when they were in their prime, just bad decision-making ...
"Winning the championship in the Bubble, which most people don't even count as legit, come on man."
It included only staff, players and league officials, who played without fans and the usual home-and-away system. The unusual nature of that postseason raised questions about whether the Lakers would've been able to do it in normal circumstances. Rival players also said it wasn't ideal, leading to their respective teams' losses.
