"Commentator was shocked" - Tyrese Haliburton hilariously reacts to Warriors sharpshooter's dunkĀ
Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Buddy Hield threw down a couple of rare dunks during Monday's 125-112 road win over the Washington Wizards. The following day, his ex-teammate, Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, reacted humorously on social media.
Hield dropped 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers, shooting 50.0% as Golden State continued its strong start (6-1). However, despite his hot shooting, one of Hield's top highlights came on a defensive play that sparked a fastbreak opportunity.
Late in the first quarter, the nine-year veteran played lockdown defense on Wizards guard Johnny Davis and secured a steal. Afterward, he pushed the ball up the court and converted a two-handed jam.
The dunk marked one of two from Hield on the evening. Per NBA.com, they were his only two slams through his first seven outings with the Warriors. Moreover, he only converted six throwdowns over 84 appearances with Indiana and the Philadelphia 76ers last season.
After the contest, Hield shared his highlight dunk on his Instagram stories. In his caption, he jokingly made sure that Haliburton took notice.
"Tyrese Haliburton, you see me?" Hield wrote alongside a laughing emoji.
On Tuesday, Haliburton reacted on his IG stories, quipping that Hield's dunk even caught Golden State's commentator off guard.
"Commentator was shocked, LOL," Haliburton said.
So, the former Pacers and Sacramento Kings teammates still appear to be good friends following Hield's departure from Indiana last season.

With Monday's performance, which caught Tyrese Haliburton's attention, Buddy Hield continued his blistering start to his Golden State tenure.
The unheralded offseason acquisition has scored 20-plus points in six of seven outings. He is averaging career-highs of 21.9 points and 4.7 3-pointers per game, shooting 51.4% and 50.0% from deep.
Hield's standout production has the Warriors positioned near the top of the Western Conference. Meanwhile, he appears to be the early favorite for this season's Sixth Man of the Year award.
Golden State will look to improve to 7-1 during Wednesday's road matchup against the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics (7-1).
