"Could've been out 6 weeks" - Jayson Tatum fires away at refs after no-call on Giannis Antetokounmpo
Jayson Tatum talked about his thoughts on not getting a foul call on a play in their Sunday game against the Milwaukee Bucks that almost resulted in him injuring his ankle. As Tatum shot the ball outside from the left corner, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo went for the contest so "JT" couldn't knock down the shot. However, Giannis' defensive efforts led to Jayson nearly fully twisting his left ankle.
The Celtics star believed that there should've been a foul called after the play. After the game, he expressed his frustrations with the referees and told the media that it's their job to protect the players.
"It's a tough situation," Tatum said. "But certain calls I feel like [referees] can't miss. Your job is to protect the guys on the court, protect the shooter. That's something I could've been out for six weeks... for it to be a no-call... that s**t is frustrating."
Luckily for the Celtics, Tatum was able to avoid injury on the play and led Boston to a 113-107 win. They improved to 9-2 while the Bucks slumped to 2-8, the second-worst record in the East.
