"Criminal supports his criminal teammate": NBA fans react to Brandon Miller vouching for Miles Bridges' off-court character

NBA fans share their thoughts on Charlotte Hornets swingman Brandon Miller after he vouched for Miles Bridges' off-court persona. The Hornets secured Bridges on a new deal. The forward was given a three-year $75 million contract extension during free agency, which makes him stay with the team with the team that he started his career with.

Bridges missed out on the entire 2022-23 NBA season after he was given a 30-day suspension for a domestic violence incident. His then-partner Mychelle Johnson and their children were involved and the league did not let it go easily. But the team still believed in having him back and was given a qualifying offer in July 2023.

Since then, fans have felt differently about him. However, his teammates have only said positive things about the forward. Miller is his most recent teammate who spoke highly of Bridges.

"I think that was a great thing for us having him back. He’s a veteran, and everyone loves him like a brother off the court. I think it’s going to be a great year this year," Miller said.

Fans quickly shared their thoughts after Miller's comments about the forward. In college, the guard was involved in a firearm incident. While playing for Alabama, he brought his friend and former teammate, Darius Miles, a firearm that was used in the capital murder of Jamea Jonae Harris in 2023.

Here are some of what the fans had to say.

"Of course the criminal supports his criminal teammate," one fan said.
"Yikes... on so many levels," another fan was concerned.
"Probably shouldn’t have used the phrase 'off the court' man," one fan mentioned.

Other fans haven't forgotten the incident that Miller was involved in during college.

"We already knew Brandon isn’t the best at picking friends," one fan reminded the others.
"Well, Miller's not exactly a great judge of character," another fan said.
"Maybe we don't take advice from Brandon Miller about off-the-court friendships," one fan said.
