Dallas Mavericks starting lineup for 2023-24 NBA season: All players listed
The Dallas Mavericks will kick off their regular season campaign with a road game vs the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, October 25. This game will see superstar guard Luka Doncic collide with future star and generational talent Victor Wembanyama, as both the Mavs and Spurs aim for a return to the playoffs this year.
Dallas is coming off a meltdown in the second half of the 2022-23 season that cost them a playoff spot. They want to turn things around in Kyrie Irving's first full season with the team this year.
Irving, who was acquired in a trade from the Brooklyn Nets in February, signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mavericks in the summer and is now focused on guiding the Mavs to a championship.
Meanwhile, the Mavs brought sharpshooter Seth Curry back, while signing Dante Exum from EuroLeague club Partizan. Exum spent a few years in the NBA before moving to the EuroLeague for two years.
Dallas also signed big man Richaun Holmes and Derrick Jones Jr, while their biggest offseason addition was 3&D specialist Grant Williams, who left the Boston Celtics after a trip to the NBA Finals in 2022 and consecutive appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals (2022, 2023).

Jason Kidd shares excitement about Dallas Mavericks' roster versatility
Jason Kidd understands that this season is very important for the Dallas Mavericks after they failed to reach the NBA playoffs last year. Another losing season will be a major upset for the veteran coach and the franchise.
Heading into the season opener vs the Spurs, Jason Kidd shared his thoughts on the Mavs' roster, saying that he likes the versatility that most of the players bring.
"We have a lot of versatility when you look at different matchups and you look at different players. If you looked at Josh (Green), he does something different than Derrick Jones Jr. does, so there are different scenarios that we have to discuss and put these guys in the situation of playing with different tandems," Jason Kidd told media last week, via Sports Illustrated.
"As a coach, you believe in or hope that he wants to do this, but you see that with the different pairings, maybe they’re doing something else. Different guys are playing well," Jason Kidd added.
Heading into their season opener, the Dallas Mavericks hope Luka Doncic (calf strain, questionable) will be available to play, as they will look to start the season with a victory over a San Antonio team that aims for a playoff return after Victor Wembanyama's addition.
