Dalton Knecht Stats Tonight: How did Lakers rookie fare against Anthony Edwards and Timberwolves? (Dec. 13)

Dalton Knecht and the LA Lakers took on Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Looking at the Lakers rookie's previous performance against the Portland Trail Blazers, he's coming from a six-point outing. Up against the Wolves, Knecht hoped to provide a more efficient performance.

During the first half of the game, Knecht only provided six points in 14 minutes. However, his efforts in securing the boards were solid. The rookie managed to out-rebound Minnesota with eight rebounds. Surprisingly, he grabbed more boards than Anthony Davis in the half (four).

As expected, Davis was the star of the show for the Lakers as he tried to keep the game within reach for his team. LA trailed by six in the first half with a 50-44 finish.

Come the third quarter, Dalton Knecht could not find his rhythm. He missed two shot attempts. Keeping the pace up for the LA Lakers was still Anthony Davis. He played rim protector throughout the period by increasing his rebounds and swatting two shots.

Davis also added six more points, to help the Lakers stay alive. Ultimately, the Minnesota Timberwolves came out on top with a 97-87 finish. The trio of Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels was too much for the Lakers to handle. Dalton Knecht never checked back in for LA in the final period.

Lakers vs Timberwolves recap: Dalton Knecht remains inconsistent in scoring

The Minnesota Timberwolves hosted the LA Lakers on Friday night. It was the Lakers’ second-straight game without LeBron James in their lineup. As expected, Anthony Davis took over LA as he tried to get his team the win. However, Anthony Edwards and the Wolves performed better than the Purple and Gold, coming up with a 97-87 victory.

Davis struggled to hit his shots on Friday as he only shot 47.6% from the field and made only one out of five attempts from beyond the arc. Despite this issue, AD managed to notch a double-double performance with 23 points and 11 rebounds. He also played solid defense as he blocked three shots.

Trying to support Anthony Davis on offense were Austin Reaves and Max Christie. Reaves had an all-around performance with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists.

As for Christie, he added 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal. For two consecutive games, the Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht struggled to hit his stride against the Timberwolves.

Knecht missed all of his three-point attempts and only scored six points. He nearly notched double-figures after securing nine rebounds. Other than that, the rookie struggled to contribute significantly for his team.
