Damian Lillard's sister Lanae Lillard drops poignant 4-word statement on Bucks star's bittersweet outing
Damian Lillard's sister Lanae reposted an image of his brother in her Instagram story showing that the Milwaukee Bucks star was the player of the game. Milwaukee fell 114-113 to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday despite his 41-point outing.
Apparently, it was difficult for Lillard to celebrate his performance as he missed his grandmother's 80th birthday. He posted several pictures of him with his grandma on Instagram on Sunday with the caption:
"The greatest grandmother in the world turned 80 today. My entire family is in Oakland celebrating her and I couldn’t be there (🤦🏾♂️) … but I want to wish my girl a very special happy birthday! 💐🥂🎁🎊🎈🎉8️⃣0️⃣"
Nevertheless, Lanae showed support for her brother. She reposted an image uploaded by the Bucks that showed his stats against the Cavaliers. She then wrote on her Instagram story:
"Did it for granny."
Damian Lillard's scorching-hot performance against Cavs leads to heartbreak
Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday hoping to get back in the win column after losing four consecutive games. Unfortunately for them, the Bucks ended up losing again after Donovan Mitchell's game-winner in the final second.
Lillard did everything he could on Saturday. He nearly came up with a double-double performance (41 points, nine assists) while shooting 66.6% shooting from 3-point land and 54.1% overall.
His co-star Giannis Antetokounmpo supported Lillard on offense. Antetokounmpo had 34 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists and shot 55.5%.
So far, the only win the Milwaukee Bucks (1-5) have came against the Philadelphia 76ers on opening night. While Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been doing their part to keep the team alive, it's clear that the team needs to make adjustments in other aspects.
The Bucks have the chance to make up for their loss against Cleveland as they'll once again take on the Cavaliers, playing on Monday night in Cleveland, although Antetokounmpo won't play because of a right abductor strain.
