The LA Lakers started the year 2-8. Since then, they have gone 17-11 while battling injuries to key players like Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker IV. Despite poor roster construction, the Lakers have won games with their intensity and grit, displaying a next-man-up mentality when needed with effect.

The LA Lakers are undefeated since losing to the Miami Heat

When the Lakers lost to Miami, there was a real air of frustration around the team. it was in this atmosphere that LeBron James made his comments. He called for immediate improvements from the side.

Here's what James said following the defeat:

“I don’t want to finish my career playing at this level from a team aspect,” James said. “I want to still be able to compete for championships, because I know what I can still bring to any ballclub with the right pieces.”

Since then, they have not looked back. Victories against the Atlanta Hawks (twice), the Charlotte Hornets, Miami and the Sacramento Kings have changed the narrative in LA.

With a real sense of positivity going forward, the Lakers are becoming one of the most dangerous opponents in basketball.
