Dennis Rodman's daughter Trinity Rodman drops heartbreaking truth on her relationship with Bulls legend
Trinity Rodman, the daughter of Dennis Rodman and a rising star in American soccer, has been making headlines since she was drafted by the Washington Spirit in 2021. Her complicated relationship with her father has come under public scrutiny, particularly after she revealed some painful truths about their connection.
In a clip posted by 'Call Her Daddy' podcast's X handle on Tuesday, the 22-year-old opened up about her relationship with her father. The host Alex Cooper questioned the NWSL star on what made her ready to talk about her father now, to which she explained:
"We never want to make him look bad, and that is at the cost of kind of holding it in a lot. I guess it's just like the anger that I haven't really been able to let out is difficult for me."
Continuing to speak on the subject of Dennis and Trinity's relationship the host then asked if money was ever an issue. The Spirit forward revealed that her family did live in expedition houses for a while. She said she did try to live with her father, but his outlandish lifestyle made that difficult:
"We had an expedition and we kind of lived in that for a little bit. We tried to live with him but he's having parties 24x7, he is bringing random b**ches in. He loves the spotlight." Trinity stated.
Diving further into her relationship with her father, the Team USA forward explained:
"I lost hope in ever getting him back, I answer the phone now for my conscience to be like 'he needed to hear my voice' before anything happens. That's why I answer the phone not for me. He's not a dad maybe by blood but nothing else"
Trinity Rodman's bitter end to the NWSL season
Trinity Rodman and the Washington Spirit had a sad ending to an otherwise eventful season after failing to win the NWSL championship at the last hurdle. Washington was touted as one of the favorites to win the title but came up short losing to the Orlando Pride in the Finals.
The Orlando Pride beat them in the league standings as well, with the Florida based franchise finishing 4-points above the Washington team.
Qualifying for the playoffs, the Spirit faced Bay FC in the quarter finals, beating them in extra time before going all the way to penalty kicks in their semifinal tie against the NJ/NY Gotham FC.
In the Finals, a 37th-minute Barbra Banda strike sealed the victory for the Orlando Pride, ending an enthralling season for both teams.
"I wasn’t the Trin I wanted to be today. It’s no secret that I was fighting through back issues pretty much since I got back from the Olympics. Not ideal, but again, that’s no excuse." Trinity Rodman said after the game.
Trinity played 26 games for the Spirit, scoring eight goals and providing six assists during the season.
