Dennis Rodman's daughter Trinity Rodman drops two-word reactions after Leicy Santos' NWSL Cup triumph

Washington Spirit forward Trinity Rodman, Dennis Rodman’s daughter, recently shared her excitement after teammate Leicy Santos delivered a standout performance in the NWSL Challenge Cup final against Orlando Pride.

Trailing 1-0 after Rafaelle Souza’s 41st-minute goal, the Spirit needed a moment of brilliance to turn things around. Santos stepped up in the 72nd minute, curling in a perfectly placed free kick to bring her team level.

That crucial goal pushed the game into a penalty shootout, where Washington Spirit ultimately secured a 4-2 victory.

Following the win, Rodman took to Instagram to celebrate Santos’ heroics. She posted a story featuring their celebratory dance, adding a simple but powerful two-word caption: “Our queen.”

Rodman, who was among the substitutes for the match, has been an influential player for the Spirit. She had an impressive 2024 season, tallying eight goals and six assists in 26 games.

She was also a key part of the U.S. national team that won gold at the Paris Olympics last year.

Trinity credits her mother and not Dennis Rodman for her speed

Despite being the daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, Trinity Rodman has made it clear that her speed and agility on the field come from her mother, Michelle Moyer.

In an episode of For the Win NWSL on Prime Video, the 22-year-old soccer star addressed a common misconception about her athletic abilities. Many assume her physicality is inherited from her father, but she was quick to set the record straight.

"Everyone thinks that I'm like, fast because of my dad and I like correct people. I'm like 'No, my mom was the fast one.' But my dad was athletic as hell," Rodman said. "I'm quick and I'm fast becasue of my mom, so I just wanna shout that out."

Trinity has also spoken openly about her complicated relationship with her father. In an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she revealed that Dennis Rodman’s partying lifestyle made it difficult for her and her mother to live with him.

"He partied all the time, he has this beach house in New port or Huntington or whatever it was like we tried to live with him, but he's having parties 24/7," she said. "My mom, she was strong enough to deal with it. I still believe that my dad hasn't loved anyone after my mom like I genuinely believe."

Dennis Rodman and Michelle Moyer officially divorced in 2012. Despite the challenges, Trinity has carved out her own successful path in professional soccer.

Her career has been marked by impressive performances, including winning the NWSL Championship with Washington Spirit in 2021 and earning U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year honors.

While she has acknowledged her father’s presence in her life, it is evident that her mother played the most significant role in shaping her as both an athlete and a person.
