Dennis Schroder's wife Ellen Schroder has a quip following his sneaky steal against Grizzlies
Dennis Schroder is coming off a big year where he represented his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics and secured a move to the Brooklyn Nets before last season's trade deadline. Off the court, things are going well for the German basketball star as well. Schroder is married to Ellen Schroder who is not only charming, but also seems to have a great sense of humor.
Schroder had a strong performance in the Nets' win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, finishing the night with 20 points and six assists. With the game tied in the third quarter, he pulled off an intelligent play to swing the momentum in his team's favor. As Grizzlies center Zach Edey looked to post up, Schroder snuck in from the baseline and stripped the ball from the big man.
The impressive play led to a witty quip from Schroder's wife, Ellen, who posted a video of the steal on her Instagram story with a hilarious comment:
"That's how he stole my heart ❤️😂💯"
In a fascinating back and forth matchup, the 6-foot-1 Schroder and the 7-4 Eddy went at each other throughout the game. Schroder delivered some key baskets including a vital layup with 30 seconds left in the game. That was enough to secure a 106-104 victory for the Nets in front of 18,088 fans at Barclays Center.
Ellen and Dennis Schroder first met in Germany and got engaged in 2018. They were married in 2019 at a wedding in the Richmond Castle in Braunschweig, Germany. The couple have three children.
