Cade Cunningham had a masterful double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds in Detroit's first playoff win since 2008. Veteran Dennis Schroder rose to the occasion by contributing 20 points from the bench, while starters Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren combined for 27 points and 26 rebounds.
Brunson had 37 points for the Knicks but shot just 4-for-12 from beyond the arc. Brunson's struggles from 3-point territory mirrored the Knicks' shooting woes as a team (10-for-35 from deep). Karl Anthony-Towns and Josh Hart scored just 10 points apiece, while the New York bench mustered eight points, all from Miles McBride.

Cade Cunningham set the tone offensively, helping the Pistons take a 25-18 lead after the opening 12 minutes. Despite playing in front of their raucous home crowd, the Knicks couldn't slow down Detroit's offense in the second quarter. The first half ended with the Pistons holding a 55-49 lead.
Both teams took a step back offensively after the halftime break. The Pistons, who ended up winning the rebounding battle 48-34, kept the Knicks at bay with a 20-18 third-quarter edge.
Notably, New York could not keep Detroit off the free throw line. The Pistons finished 28-for-34 at the charity stripe compared to the Knicks' 16-for-19, playing a key role in their six-point victory.
