New York is the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record. The Knicks have been among the best teams in the East throughout the 2024–25 season. Meanwhile, Detroit (44-38) claimed the No. 6 spot via a late-season surge, winning 19 of its final 31 games.
