Devin Booker hyped as Phoenix legend Michael Phelps rocks Book 1s in Suns' home opener
Devin Booker's Nike Book 1 has been a hit in the sneaker market and the latest fan of his first signature shoe is the "Flying Fish" himself. 23-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was at the Footprint Center supporting the Phoenix Suns in Book 1s.
Phelps was joined by his wife Nicole Johnson. Devin Booker was ecstatic to find the Phoenix legend rocking his signature shoes. The Suns star took to his social media to share his excitement with his fans. He reposted a post by the Suns' IG handle on his Instagram Story.
"📚 [Book] club," Booker wrote in the caption.
Phelps also posted a story on his Instagram with a picture of his wife rocking Jordans and him rocking Book 1. He also asked his followers to vote on who was rocking the best shoe.
"Who got better shoes"
"Mama aka Nicole."
"Me (Books)."
Phelps lives in Phoenix with his family. Moreover, he trained with his longtime coach Bob Bowman at Arizona State University to prepare for the 2016 Olympics.
The Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks by 114-102. Devin Booker scored 21 points in 37 minutes. However, he did not have an efficient night, shooting only 33.3% from the floor and 25.0% from the 3-point line. Kevin Durant led the Suns with 31 points.
Devin Booker gives a first look of Nike Book 1 "USC Trojans"
Devin Booker's Nike Book 1 has been one of the best sneaker releases by Nike in recent years. Not only has it been well received for its flawless design but the colorways have also been among the favorites among the sneaker enthusiasts.
The Phoenix Suns star debuted another version of Nike Book 1 in the season opener against the LA Clippers. Booker entered the game wearing Book 1 "USC Trojans," the collegiate colorways version of the sneaker.
The Book 1 "USC Trojans" version of the sneaker flaunts red and yellow gold colorways with the Nike Swoosh logo on the forefoot. The heel features "USC" text and the pull tab features the text "Chapter One."
While the latest sneaker release is an exciting addition to the Book 1 family of sneakers, the not-so-good news is that it will not be released to the public. This is also the second time that Nike and Devin Booker have released a college version of the sneaker.
Previously, only earlier this month, the sneaker giant released the "Michigan State Spartans" version of Book 1. Interestingly, Booker was drafted out of Kentucky Wildcats and Nike hasn't released a version of that. It would be safe to say that it is just a matter of time before the Wildcats' version of the sneaker is on display.
