Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno rocks Suns star Devin Booker's $150 'Book 1s' Python colorway sneakers ahead of injury comeback

Arizona Diamondbacks’ Gabriel Moreno was seen rocking Devin Booker’s “Book 1s” in Phyton colorway as he nears his return from injury. Booker’s sneakers were released on Sept. 12 and retailed at $150.

Moreno wore the shoes as he prepared for his return due to a left abductor (groin) strain he suffered last August:

“Guess who’s back. Back again,” Moreno captioned his post on Instagram.

Phyton is the new colorway for Booker’s "Book 1s" line. The shoe features a unique finish, along with a python-inspired upper combined with a white midsole and gum outsole.

The tongue tag also reads “Chapter One” as it was Booker's first shoe line, while the pull tab features “96” referring to Booker’s birth year.

The Phoenix Suns star is coming off a triumphant campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he played a key role in Team USA’s gold-medal run punctuated by impressive wins against Serbia and France in the medal rounds.

Devin Booker is upbeat in his first shoe line after years of wearing Kobes

Booker debuted his first signature shoes last year during the 2023-2024 NBA season. A year later, the Phyton colorway marked the innovation Nike had done for the shoe.

Before the shoe came out, Booker expressed how special it was for him to have his own signature shoe line as he played with Kobe Bryant’s signature shoes for most of his career (via NiceKicks.com):

“It’s obviously something that I was knocking on their door about for years prior, but right now, it’s the right time," Booker said.
“So I just kept moving forward. I love what I did with the Kobe line through my career thus far and I’ll always pay homage back to it, but it’s exciting to have my own shoe,” he added.

Booker also wore his shoes during Team USA’s training camp and scrimmages until the Olympic Games in Paris, where they swept the competition.

His Phoenix Suns and Team USA teammate Kevin Durant also expressed his happiness for Booker’s first shoe line. The former MVP also wore Book 1 in some of their regular season games:

“I’m happy for Book. It’s a huge accomplishment. Nike, you could say, is the rival to Apple as the biggest company in the world. To be a signature athlete for one of the biggest companies in the world means a lot. It’s always been a lifelong dream for every player to have their own shoe,” Durant said.

Last season, Booker averaged 27.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists before the Suns got swept in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Looking to finally find championship success, Booker will play in his 10th season in the NBA next season.
