"Don’t sleep on him": Ex-Laker strongly vouches for JJ Redick as LeBron James & Co's best bet at championship
Head coach JJ Redick has a ton of expectations from the LA Lakers this coming 2024-25 NBA season. After getting rid of Darvin Ham, the Lakers expect great things from Redick as their new leader. Patrick Beverley belongs to the group of people who believe that the former player is the perfect coach for the team.
The Lakers are eyeing the championship after failing to compete for it for the past two seasons. On X, Beverley vouched for Redick as he trusts the former Duke Blue Devil star to lead LeBron James and Co. to the title.
"JJ getting roles in order asap. Don’t 😴 on him. He gonna get it done," Pat Bev posted on social media.
In a recent clip from his show, the Pat Bev Pod, he further explained why Redick is the perfect person to be the coach of the Lakers.
"He's a respectable a**hole, 'Yeah, I went to Duke. Yeah, I know what I'm talking about. Yeah, I know basketball. I know how to do things the right way. I know what hard work is. I know what stardom is, I know what fame is. I've also been a role player. I know how the role is, I know how the bench is, I've also been hurt. I done been through injury, I know how guys feel'.
"He is the perfect person to be a coach. Like, the perfect person."
There is a bit of doubt from other fans as Redick has no prior experience in coaching at the NBA level. However, others like Beverley believe that the former ESPN analyst's experience playing in the league will benefit his coaching career.

Coach JJ Redick has started to plan the special moment for LeBron and Bronny James
One of the most anticipated moments next season for the Lakers is the night LeBron and Bronny James will share the court. They are set to be the first father-son duo on the court simultaneously in the league's history. Many are aware that the moment is bound to be special and JJ Redick has started to work on it.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Redick and his coaching staff have started discussions regarding the moment. However, no solid plans have been made for when it will happen. The former NBA player shared that he will plan the moment with the people involved, especially LeBron and Bronny.
The 2024-25 campaign is bound to be historic for the league and the fans. However, for Lakers fans, their team's overall success might be more important than the potential moment of LeBron and Bronny sharing the court.
