Donald Trump stumps NBA world with random shoutout to LeBron James-centric X account: "THANK YOU for liking my post"

The NBA world was baffled after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gave a shoutout to a LeBron James fan account on X. The two personalities do not have the best history, having taken shots at each other online over the years, so it came as a surprise that a James-centric page was recognized by the former POTUS.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Trump thanked "BronMuse" for liking his post, although it's unknown which post the paged liked. The 78-year-old candidate promised the page that it would be receiving election updates from North Carolina in the upcoming election next month.

"@BronMuse THANK YOU for liking my post! I'll send you IMPORTANT ELECTION UPDATES for North Carolina. Make sure you are ready to VOTE FOR DONALD J. TRUMP by November 5th. Reply #stop to opt-out," Trump tweeted.

"BronMuse," who has more than 50,000 followers on the platform, was very surprised by the shoutout. The account replied to Trump with an image of James.

"ME????????????????😭😭😭," the account wrote in the caption.

The X account is dedicated to "King James," giving its followers the latest news, stats, analysis and highlights of the LA Lakers superstar. It's one of the most popular pages dedicated to the NBA's all-time leading scorer and four-time champion.

Donald Trump has taken multiple shots at LeBron James since he became the US President in 2016. It got to a point wherein Trump mocked James by saying he preferred Michael Jordan over him but would want him to play as the star of his future women's basketball team.

"I'd be the greatest women's basketball coach in history," Trump said at a keynote address in Washington, D.C. back in 2022. "I don't like LeBron James. I like Michael Jordan much better. But I'd go up to LeBron James and say, 'LeBron, did you ever have any desire to be a woman? Because what I'd love you to do is star on my team."

Despite the beef between the two personalities, Trump has barely targeted James during his presidential campaign, during which he has taken a lot of shots against his opposition, Vice President Kamala Harris.

NBA fans react to LeBron James fan account getting a shoutout from Donald Trump

NBA fans lost it after Donald Trump gave a shoutout to "BronMuse" and couldn't believe what was happening. It was one of the most interesting X posts of the season, which hasn't even officially begun.

"How the hell bro? What are your secrets?" one fan asked.
"Legendary moment in history of NBAtwt," another wrote.
"@BronGotGame crying rn, you got recognized by Bron and TRUMP before he got recognized by Austin Reaves 😭 😭," a fan claimed.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers are currently in training camp ahead of their preseason opener on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Acrisure Arena in Riverside County, California.
