"Dope content" - LeBron James amused by Devin Booker dubbing him 'Captain America' on his Olympic vlog

With people referring to him as the "Chosen One" or crowning him "King James," four-time NBA champion LeBron James arguably has some of the best nicknames. While these are already some great monikers, another appears to have been added to the list, courtesy of Devin Booker.

Booker decided to vlog the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics and caught LeBron on film fulfilling his duties as Team USA's flag bearer on July 26. While pointing the camera at LeBron, who was hoisting the flag, Booker referred to him as "Captain America."

LeBron is one of the most decorated players on Team USA's current roster in terms of international competition. He has one bronze medal (2004) and two golds (2008, 2012) from previous Olympics. Additionally, he has also won a bronze medal at the 2006 FIBA World Cup and a gold at the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship.

Despite being the oldest player on Team USA at 39 years old, he is widely regarded as the best all-around player on the team and its leader. LeBron is also the first USA Men's Basketball player to carry the flag at the Olympics and only the 10th NBA player to do so. The nine previous players were Manu Ginobili, Pau Gasol, Luis Scola, Dirk Nowitzki, Patty Mills, Yao Ming, Andrei Kirilenko, Rui Hachimura and Yi Jianlian.

LeBron James debuts 'LeBron 22s' at Team USA practice

Aside from all the personal accolades and championships, another testament to LeBron James' longevity and popularity is the number of signature sneakers he's released throughout his playing career.

LeBron dropped his 21st sneaker in September of last year, and a follow-up is coming soon. The 'LeBron 22s' are expected to release in the same month later this year, although Nike has yet to officially confirm this.

Fans already got a look at the upcoming signature sneaker when 'The King' himself was seen wearing a pair during a Team USA practice on July 25. The shoes he wore featured a white, blue and red color palette and are aptly named 'LeBron 22 USA.'

However, these shoes are currently listed as "Player Edition" or "PE," which means this design is currently exclusive to LeBron James. Other colorways of the 'LeBron 22' should be announced ahead of its official release.
