"Drake is a better musician than Kendrick Lamar" — LeBron James' friend makes surprising take about the two rappers
One of LeBron James' friends shared a bold take about Drake and Kendrick Lamar, two rappers who had beef from March through May that polarized music fans. It's been a couple of months since Lamar last posted a track against Drake, but the conversations about this topic aren't stopping anytime soon.
For instance, Cuffs The Legend, a podcast host and James' friend, took to social media to say that Drake is a better musician than Kendrick. He added that the Canadian rapper can sound better:
"Just let me say this… the one thing about this whole Drake vs Kendrick beef that people aren’t quite understanding is…
"Drake is a better musician than Kendrick and he also has the best producers in the game in his camp … they can just flat out make better MUSIC… sonically they’re untouchable and undeniable."
This situation started when Lamar took some shots at Drake and J Cole on Future and Metro Boomin's "We Don't Trust You" album.
Drake released two tracks in April, first putting out "Push Ups" and then "Taylor Made Freestyle." After those two, Lamar went on a run that made the internet go crazy. Less than a week after Drake released his second diss track, Lamar tweeted his comeback record "Euphoria."
At the start of May, Kendrick dropped "6:16 in LA," and Drake responded with "Family Matters" the same day. Lamar clapped back with "Meet the Grahams" the next day. Kendrick then released a song that went viral and ended the feud in his favor less than 24 hours later. "Not Like Us" was a major release, and Drake's response, "The Heart Pt. 6," wasn't enough to turn the situation around.
LeBron James was spotted dancing to 'Not Like Us' by Kendrick Lamar
LeBron was a common name during the hottest moments of this beef. The LA Lakers superstar was close to Drake before this situation exploded, but he was spotted dancing to "Euphoria" at a nightclub. The King attended Lamar's Juneteenth concert, which featured other NBA stars such as Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan.
Moreover, during the 2024 Paris Olympics, James was spotted telling Steph Curry he loved the song. The Warriors superstar was less impressed, saying:
"It's not the only song in America."
It's unclear if LeBron James and Drake are on good terms after all these events, but the Canadian artist keeps dropping music, while the King is focused on basketball. His attention will be on the Lakers improving after another disappointing playoff exit in the 2023-24 NBA season.
