Drake nemesis Pusha T mocks parody account's Jayson Tatum post following Game 1: "I understand this too well"

Five-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics picked up a big Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday to take an early lead in the NBA Finals. Following the game, a fake quote from Tatum surfaced in which the Celtics star allegedly went back and forth with a media member, indicating that unless the job is done, there's nothing to be happy about.

The quote was a play on an iconic postseason moment from Kobe Bryant years back. At the time, the Hall of Famer told media members there was no reason to be happy about a win if the job wasn't fully completed and the team hadn't yet won an NBA title.

In addition to the clip being AI generated and fake, it was also shared by the notorious troll account Buttcrack Sports, further making it clear to fans that the clip was fake. Despite that, rapper Pusha T, who has previously engaged in a bitter feud with Drake, responded, reposting the clip while writing:

"I understand this too well..."

Looking further at the account that posted the fake Jayson Tatum clip that caught the attention of Pusha T

As previously mentioned, the account that posted the fake clip of Jayson Tatum on Friday in the wake of the Celtics' win on Thursday is a notorious troll account. While in this instance, it was rapper Pusha T who was falling for the fake clip of Tatum, in the past, plenty of other users have fallen for the page's content.

For example, last summer, prior to the start of the 2023-24 NBA season, a fake quote that was attributed to James Harden went viral. In it, Harden allegedly claimed that he had taken a two-year hiatus from offense over the past two seasons.

This is just one example of a fake post from Buttcrack Sports that has gone viral, much like the recent clip of Jayson Tatum allegedly going back and forth with a media member.

Looking at Jayson Tatum's real comments following Celtics' win over Mavericks in Game 1

While Jayson Tatum didn't go back and forth with a media member following the Celtics' Game 1 win, he did speak honestly about the pregame nerves he dealt with. After he and the Celtics finished the year with the best record in the NBA, expectations were high around the league.

Given their dominance in the regular season, the Celtics were positioned as favorites heading into the postseason. As Tatum explained to media members post-game, he felt the nerves prior to Game 1 after missing the finals last year:

"To be honest, I was nervous. I ain't gonna lie. I was nervous in like an anxious way, as like a little kid. It's surreal being in the Finals. When you're young in your career, you think you're always going to go back. Last year was like a wake-up call when we didn't make it.

After a big Game 1 win, the Celtics are now just three wins away from raising the Larry O'Brien trophy. NBA Finals action will continue on Sunday, with the Celtics looking to defend home court once more.
