Draymond Green gets iffy on questions about suspension & status with Warriors: "I am a successful black man"

On Monday afternoon, Draymond Green was one of the many players across the NBA to have their media day press conferences. However, things ended up getting chippy between him and a reporter following some comments regarding his standing with the team.

Last season, Green missed a significant portion of the regular season due to suspensions. The first instance occurred when he choked Rudy Gobert during a scuffle with the Timberwolves, followed by another incident in which he hit Jusuf Nurkic in the face during a game.

While Draymond Green was speaking with the media at media day, one reporter said that some people on the Warriors are worried about him. The former Defensive Player of the Year responded by emphasizing that there are far more important things to be worried about.

"Why are they worried about me I'm a successful black man in America doing incredibly well," Green said. "There are way more people in this world to worry about than me, that's for sure."

With Klay Thompson gone now, Green and Curry will attempt to be the primary leaders for Golden State as they attempt to stay competitive in the Western Conference.

Draymond Green praises Golden State Warriors' offseason additions

Even though the Golden State Warriors didn't make a major splash after losing Klay Thompson in free agency, Draymond Green is more than pleased with the moves that were made.

At one point in the summer, the Warriors were seen as a possible landing spot for Paul George. After that fell through, the team went out and signed multiple depth pieces over star talent. Among those brought in include De'Anthony Melton, Kyle Anderson and Buddy Hield.

While speaking at media day, Draymond Green touched on the Golden State Warriors' new additions. He thinks they won't get a lot of credit, but will be impactful in helping the team achieve their goals.

"When I look at the new additions on this team," Green said. "They're proven guys. Guys that's respected around this league. Guys that you know what they're going to bring every night."
"Last time we added guys like that, we did what we love to do."

Green was talking about the Warriors' addition of another championship to their dynasty in 2022. Armed with a new group of complementary role players, the former All-Star seems to have high expectations for this team.

Golden State still has a superstar leading the charge in Steph Curry. However, one person can only take a team so far. While Green seemingly approves of the players, the front office signed, only time will tell if they'll help them climb the ranks in the Western Conference.
