Draymond Green gets real about Kevin Durant as he spills out hilarious trash-talk momentÂ
Draymond Green starred in a back-and-forth with former teammate Kevin Durant during a matchup against KD's Phoenix Suns. In Durant's second game back from a calf strain, he faced his former team and engaged in a battle with Green.
During Tuesday's edition of the Draymond Green show with Baron Davis, the four-time NBA champion opened up on what was said between himself and his former teammate. He said he was the one who initiated a trash-talking session.
"I shoot the first one on the wing and I got K in front of me and so I'm like, 'Oh, I'm about to hit this 3 and I'm about to say something to K.' I missed it and I like, 'Ahhhhhh.' So we come back down the court and so I hit the 3 and I'm like, 'Yeah motherf***a! I ain't missing two in a row, K.'
"So he started laughing, so then my dumb a** go help in, they hit K in the corner, K's seven feet, you're not affecting him with no shot contest late. I come flying out, I get my corner contest... Bow! He like, 'Alright now, you know I shoot that motherf***a too now!"
Draymond Green accepted that he enjoyed going at it with Kevin Durant, a player he has gone to war with and against. Five years since their last game together on the Golden State Warriors, their relationship has seemingly gotten better, and they can even afford to trash-talk each other on the court.
"Just having that battle, that banter was great, man. And I enjoyed the hell out of it. You say what you want about Kevin Durant, he is Kevin Durant. So I was very appreciative," Green added.
The Suns won the game 113-105 at Footprint Center, with Durant scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Green responded with 13 points and seven assists.
Draymond Green explained how he's dealt with calf injury
Besides sharing details of his back-and-forth with Kevin Durant, Draymond Green explained how he's felt this season and what he's done to deal with a calf injury. He recalled that he missed three months of action in 2022 due to a similar injury, which gave him a better understanding of how to deal with it.
He added that he felt symptoms that sounded his alarms and he's focused on resting before returning to the court. Coincidentally, this injury happened during that Suns game.
Both Green and Durant are currently injured.
