Draymond Green Injury Update: Latest status of 4x NBA champion for Warriors revelaed

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green underwent an MRI after missing their 119-115 loss against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Green was ruled out because of left calf tightness and missed his first game of the 2024-25 NBA season. The Warriors revealed a new update on his status after going through an MRI scan.

Per the Warriors, the scan came out negative. However, Brett Siegel reported that the four-time champion will miss Friday's game against the Houston Rockets. Green's status for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves is still unclear.

The forward has played 19 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 8.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists.

Draymond Green addressed the Warriors' recent struggles

Following a strong start to the 2024-25 NBA season, the Warriors have hit a rough patch. The team is on a five-game losing streak and looks to end it on Friday against the Rockets. However, they won't have Draymond Green, their defensive anchor, on the court.

Green talked about the team's recent struggles on his program, "The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis."

“You hit these rough patches during the season, and sometimes you can wanna do everything right, you can feel like things are going right and it just don't go your way,” Green said. “That's why you wanna log them games when you can early on in the season to kind of give yourself a little cushion. So here we are riding a losing streak."
“I think our mindset is we gotta get back to what was making us successful, we were defending really well, knocking down shots… Nobody’s in a panic but s—’s gotta change.”

Given the injuries the team has gone through, the list of their upcoming opponent won't be easy moving forward. Green and the Warriors will continue to deal with tough teams in their schedule moving forward. After their game against the Rockets, they'll play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on a back-to-back before another game against Houston.

It doesn't get easier following that as they'll play against the Memphis Grizzlies before their third match of the season facing the Wolves. For the rest of December, Golden State will continue to play tough teams including the Indiana Pacers, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers.

On Jan. 2, the Warriors will play the Philadelphia 76ers, a team that has struggled since the season started.
