The Golden State Warriors crossed swords against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a crunch Western Conference matchup on Wednesday. The Warriors were without their veteran forward and defensive stalwart, Draymond Green, who was ruled out shortly before tip-off.
Green, a former Defensive Player of the Year, missed his third consecutive game due to an illness. Warriors coach Steve Kerr addressed Green's absence, providing a concerning update on the condition of his veteran forward.
"More illness today. He woke up not feeling well at all and came to shootaround and looked like a ghost," Kerr said ahead of the Warriors vs. Timberwolves game.
"He was hoping that he would be better after nap this afternoon with some hydration. He’s not been well."
Draymond Green last appeared for the Warriors on Jan. 9 in their game against the Detroit Pistons. Since then, he has missed three consecutive matchups against the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his 32-minute outing against the Pistons, the four-time NBA champion contributed seven points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks. Green shot 3 of 9 from the field, including 0 of 3 from beyond the arc.
