"Draymond Green will clothesline you" - Former NBA All-Star labels Luka Doncic & Draymond Green as NBA’s biggest whiners
Luka Doncic and Draymond Green are both established stars for their franchises and have qualities that endear them to the NBA world. However, not everyone sees them as perfect as Sacramento Kings' De'Aaron Fox said.
On Tuesday's episode of "Run It Back" on FanDuel TV, Fox had a couple of blunt words towards both Doncic and Green. He was asked for his opinion about Doncic as the league's biggest complainer, and his reply was detailed and on point.
"Luka's up there," Fox said. "Draymond will clothesline you and then look at the ref like 'What'd I do?' I think a lot of guys definitely have it. Sometimes it's warranted."
This is not the first time Luka Doncic has been called out for his whining and complaining to officials, as he has been blasted by fans on social media as well. This attitude once led his coach, Jason Kidd, to add his voice to the issue and urged him to stop.
Regardless, no one can deny the talent of last season's scoring champion. He has continued to star as the Dallas Mavericks (13-8) are hoping to return to the NBA Finals once again.
ESPN reporter makes claims about Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic
Luka Doncic had been out injured before the Mavericks 137-131 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, but ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon said on "The Hoop Collective Podcast" that there was another reason for his delayed return.
"His right wrist is officially the reason that he hasn't returned yet, but it's not really the reason that he hasn't returned yet. ... Yes, he had a right wrist injury," MacMahon said (Timestamp: 40:45). "I'm not saying he didn't. But this has absolutely been an opportunity for Luka to work on his conditioning, and that has been an issue again."
While his physical conditioning has been a cause of concern, the Slovenian is still playing well as he averages 28.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game. He is shooting 44.9%, including 32.9% from beyond the arc.
The Mavs, fifth in the Western Conference, have managed to turn their season around after losing four consecutive games between Nov. 8-14. They are on a roll, winning eight of nine games since then.
