Dwight Howard joins Ilona Maher and Danny Amendola on Dancing with the Stars Season 33 cast
Former NBA player Dwight Howard is set to join the popular reality TV show "Dancing with the Stars" in its 33rd season. The Score reported the news on Wednesday, announcing it on its X handle.
TV Deets confirmed Howard's participation, revealing all the participants of the reality TV show. Team USA Rugby player Ilona Maher and former NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola are also listed as participants on the show. According to Pinkvilla, the former LA Lakers player and 2020 NBA champion will be pairing up with dancer Daniella Karagach for "DWTS" Season 33.
Karagach is an established ballroom dancer who has made a name for herself on "Dancing with the Stars." Some other big names participating in the show apart from Howard and Maher are actress Tori Spelling, Anna Delvey and reality TV star Phaedra Parks.
Dwight Howard has sexual assault lawsuit dismissed
Last year in July, the former Los Angeles Lakers star found himself in the middle of a sexual assault and battery lawsuit. Stephen Harper from Georgia had accused the eight-time All-Star of sexual assault in addition to "intentional infliction of emotional distress" along with false imprisonment and filed the lawsuit against him.
However, Dwight Howard denied the allegations in October. The former NBA star claimed that his encounter with Harper was "consensual" and that the matter was made public after he refused to abide by an alleged payment request made by the accuser.
"What was a private consensual encounter was made public for profit and Mr. Howard looks forward to bringing the truth to light in a court of law," his lawyer Justin Bailey told ESPN. "The allegations against Mr. Howard are contested. Mr. Howard intends to present the truth."
It was reported in late August that Harper has now had all his claims against Howard dismissed on the grounds of prejudice. The ruling disallows Harper from filing any lawsuit against the former NBA player in the future because of the same reasons.
Dwight Howard is currently signed with the Taiwan Mustangs and is playing in the Asian Tournament. After a long time of speculated return to the NBA and no confirmation of the same from any teams in the league, the former Lakers star signed with the Asian team in late May this year.
