Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and NBA fraternity shower Isaiah Johnson with praise over Colorado commitment
Heading into his senior year of high school, Isaiah Johnson has officially made his decision on his future. After committing to a college, the young guard was met with congratulatory messages from numerous people in and around the NBA.
Isaiah is the son of notable basketball trainer Chris Johnson. Over the years, countless professional players have spent time with him in the offseason to improve their game.
Late Thursday night, Isaiah Johnson announced to the world what he'll be doing after high school. He has decided to play in the NCAA and will be attending Colorado University.
After Isaiah told the world his decision, numerous NBA players were found in the comment section congratulating him. Among those to do so were LA Lakers star LeBron James and Tobias Harris.
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade and Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt also chimed in with comments of their own.
Rounding out the list of NBA players to pass along a positive message to Isaiah was Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Darius Garland.
Chris Johnson makes social media post for Isaiah Johnson's college decision
Isaiah Johnson's comment section was flooded with NBA stars due to who his father is. That said, the longtime trainer also made a post regarding his son's commitment.
After Isaiah made the post, Chris Johnson re-posted the photo on his story. He captioned the photo with a message letting the young guard know how proud he is of him.
Isaiah Johnson is a 6-foot-1 guard who is attending Campbell Hall School in California. Per 247 Sports, he is currently ranked as a three-star college recruit.
Along with being a three-star recruit, Isaiah also has favorable rankings regarding his graduating class. He is listed as the No. 51 point guard in the nation and No. 28 among prospects in the state of California.
Before committing to Colorado, Isaiah had multiple schools give him offers. Among those to do so were Rice, New Mexico State and North Carolina A&T.
Even though he might be considered an undersized guard, Isaiah plays much bigger than he is. He is fearless when attacking the rim, and is capable of expanding his game beyond the arc.
Colorado is fresh off producing a lottery pick in the 2024 draft with Cody Williams, and now they'll attempt to develop another one in Isaiah.
