Dwyane Wade works up a sweat on a yacht during France getaway
Dwyane Wade has been enjoying family time in France following his gig as a broadcast analyst at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Since then, the former Miami Heat star has shared snippets of his getaway with his youngest child, 5-year-old daughter Kaavia James, and wife Gabrielle Union.
Wade shared an Instagram update on Monday, working out on a yacht in the French waters. He captioned the story:
“My Monday has started"
Wade, 42, retired in 2019 but has actively kept himself in shape. During the family's trip, some of their friends joined them, as seen in Wade’s Instagram post. The upload also featured his romantic date night with Gabrielle while at sea:
Gabrielle and Kaavia made the vacation extra special for Wade, especially after his hectic schedule at the Olympics. Based on the family's social media posts, they visited Île Sainte-Marguerite in Cannes and have been enjoying the blue skies and waters over the past weekend.
Dwyane Wade made his debut as a basketball analyst at the Paris Olympics
Wade also treaded waters into color commentary at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He took the job offered by NBC and quickly made an impression in his first experience as a broadcaster, calling the games for Team USA and other notable Olympic men’s basketball matchups.
Wade expressed his enjoyment of the role on X/Twitter:
"I'm having fun calling these Olympics. But, most importantly, I am not trying to be anyone I AM not."
He worked alongside veteran play-by-play commentator Noah Eagle. The seasoned analyst did not overshadow Wade, while the former NBA player provided inputs on Xs and Os throughout the tournament.
Wade's impressive calls in the Olympic Games attracted “serious interest” from NBC and Amazon, should he choose to join their NBA media team when the new broadcasting deal starts in 2025, according to a report by Richard Deitsch of The Athletic. The same report revealed that Wade had worked with a speech coach and a vocal coach before his Olympic broadcasting debut.
Dwyane Wade was a two-time Olympic gold medalist and has been good friends with many of the Team USA players. He also won three NBA championships, all with the Heat.
