Dylan Harper's sister Mia Harper echoes strong message about Rutgers star
Dylan Harper's sister Mia Harper sent a strong message about her brother on social media. She shared Overtime's post on her Instagram story praising her brother for his efforts and his talent.
The post praised the Rutgers star as it featured his picture and a comment that proclaimed him as the best in the nation.
"Dylan Harper is the best freshman in the nation and it's not close," the post said.
Dylan is the son of former NBA star Ron Harper and is one of college basketball's finest talents. He is a top prospect for many scouts who have kept him in their vision as the 2025 NBA draft comes close. Dylan was ranked as the No. 2 player in the 2024 class.
The freshman stacked up accolades coming into his first NCAA season. He was the only freshman in the Big Ten named to the All-Preseason Big Ten Team and was also named to the top 50 Naismith National National Player of the Year watchlist. He has also been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week twice this season.
Dylan Harper's father changes his stance on his son playing for the Utah Jazz
Dylan Harper's father and five-time NBA champion Ron Harper made it clear that he did not want to see his son in a Utah Jazz jersey.
On Dec. 3, a Utah fan expressed his views on the NBA team's standing for the upcoming draft and his disappointment in the Jazz on sitting out on potentially two of the biggest draws in the next draft. He talked about Harper missing out because his father avoided Jazz as well.
Ron Harper dropped into the comments section of the post and agreed with the fan:
"Correct a trade would happen!!!"
However, after making the statement, the former Chicago Bulls guard changed his stance and said that he was joking and that he doesn't have any command over his son's career.
"Stop believe what I said about my son playing in Utah Jazz if me and a friend have a tweet about what team want him it’s all about fun…. I don’t control my son or a NBA team draft board… lol I see pictures of a few teams that I wouldn’t want him on but it’s not my career....."
Right now, fans have no option but to wait and see which team drafts Dylan Harper if he decides to go pro this season.
