Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry declare to help Oakland schools

Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry have announced that they would be helping out literacy programs in Oakland in the next five years with a generous budget of $25 million. This program aims to help children, who are at least two grade behind in reading by providing them with one-on-one tutoring facilities.

Ayesha Curry shared her thoughts on the new program and said that the process would be gradual but consistent.

"What’s interesting is it’s never been a one and done, and we’ve always slow rolled things out because we love to build a model that kind of proves itself and can stand on its own," Ayehsa said (via AP).

The project will focus on improving the basic communication skills in children such as reading and writing in the Oakland Unified School District. Curry and his wife announced this decision after the Warriors star guard signed a hefty $62.6 million extension with his current franchise for 2026-27 season

Steph Curry had a disappointing season with the Warriors last year. The Dubs failed to qualify for the post-season after losing to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament.
