"Everyone gets hate" - Jared McCain compares Drake's post-Kendrick Lamar beef hate to LeBron James' career-long scrutiny
Duke shooting guard Jared McCain likened the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef to the scrutiny that LeBron James consistently gets. During the feud between the two biggest rappers, Drake has often received criticism. As a fan of the artist, McCain shared an interesting comparison.
McCain's dream of being in the NBA came true on Wednesday. The Philadelphia 76ers used their 16th pick on him. After he was drafted, fans got a closer look at how he is as a personality and a player.
In an interview before he was drafted, he wore a Drake shirt. The reporter noticed the shirt he was wearing, which he forgot about. After his shirt was complimented, he gave an interesting take on the recent flak the Canadian rapper has gotten.
"Yeah, I'm going Drake, he's my favorite rapper of all time," McCain said.
When McCain was asked about the hate that Drake has gotten recently, he said:
"When you never won what do you expect? It's like LeBron (James), everyone gets hate."
Drake has been criticized by most hip-hop fans during his beef with Lamar. However, like James, the Canadian rapper has been silent and just allowed his body of work to do the talking.

Jared McCain, others were targeted by Antonio Brown on X on draft night
Former NFL star Antonio Brown targeted Jared McCain with a homophobic slur before the draft as he reposted the TikTok content that the rookie posted online.
"F***t of the Day #CTESPN," Brown tweeted.
Brown posted the video of McCain dancing to one of his TikTok posts on social media. The rookie has 2.9 million followers on the social media app and is consistent with his content. His post regarding the Sixers rookie was among the many crazy things he posted on social media.
Even Zach Edey, the rookie that the Memphis Grizzlies selected with their ninth pick wasn't safe from Brown. The 35-year-old former athlete took the racial route in mocking Edey during the NBA draft.
"C***k of the Week Zach Edey," Brown posted.
While Edey was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, he recognizes his Chinese roots. His mother was born to immigrants from China, which tracks his ethnic heritage.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver wasn't safe from Brown as well. He made fun of Silver's appearance, tweeting that he thinks Silver looked like a "giant p*nis."
