Ex-Laker D'Angelo Russell makes his opinion known on girlfriend Laura Ivaniukas' glamorous beach shoot
It's been a hectic start to the 2024-25 NBA season for D'Angelo Russell, who was traded from the LA Lakers back to the Brooklyn Nets. Russell spent the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons in Brooklyn, earning the lone All-Star appearance of his career.
Russell is in his 10th season and has been one of the league's best bench scorers this year. When he was a fifth-year guard with the Golden State Warriors, he started dating his girlfriend and the mother of his two children, Laura Ivaniukas.
On Wednesday, Russell showed love to his partner on his Instagram story, sharing a photo from Ivaniukas' latest photoshoot.
"They say 'how you doing'? I say 'how could I complain,'" Russell captioned his post.
The Nets guard has since deleted the post on his story ahead of Brooklyn's matchup versus the LA Clippers on Wednesday night.
D'Angelo Russell shines in first game back with Nets
On New Year's Day, D'Angelo Russell suited up for his first game back with the Brooklyn Nets since 2019. Years ago, Russell led an over-achieving Nets squad to a 42-40 record under current Cleveland Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson.
Fueled by his trade from the Lakers, Russell shined in his return to Brooklyn, finishing as the team's second-leading scorer with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, connecting on two of his six 3-point attempts. He dished out a team-high eight assists and grabbed two rebounds, with two blocks and a steal.
Brooklyn suffered a 130-113 loss versus the Toronto Raptors, but the Nets saw an immediate impact from their newest addition. D'Angelo Russell has appeared in four games for the Nets this season, averaging 12.8 ppg, 8.3 apg and 2.3 rpg, shooting modest splits of 41% from the field and 33% from 3-point range.
The Nets (14-26) are 12th in the Eastern Conference as the halfway point of the season approaches.
