Ex-NBA player Evan Turner pens blunt note for Donald Trump supporters post-presidential debate: "Don’t talk to me about the dumb topics"
Since retiring from the NBA, Evan Turner has stayed close to the game through podcasting and social media. On Tuesday, he shared his thoughts on one of the biggest topics in the United States right now.
The US will hold its 2024 presidential election in less than two months. Before the public hits the polls, former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris had a debate in Philadelphia this week.
Following the debate, Turner took to X (formerly Twitter) to send a message to supporters of former president Trump. He feels people who vote for him aren't allowed to clap back at him online for his takes on basketball.
"If you vote for trump in November then please don’t talk to me about the dumb topics I frequent or if I’m cappin. Cause yall don’t care about logic so please don’t try to vibe wit me," he wrote on X.
Evan Turner spent a decade in the league after being drafted second overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2010. He had stints with the Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics. Turner last played in the league in 2020, when he appeared in 19 games for the Atlanta Hawks.
Following his retirement, Turner briefly spent time with the Celtics as a player development coach.

At this point in the offseason, most teams have made all the moves they're going to before the regular season gets underway. That said, one contender agreed to terms on a massive contract with one of their core players this week.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that the Denver Nuggets have given Jamal Murray a max contract extension worth $209 million for four years. With his new deal, the veteran guard is set to make just shy of $250 million over the next five years.
Murray's extension eligibility was often discussed this summer. Following the Olympics, many speculated that the Nuggets would make him a huge offer. Finally, the organization chose to take care of one of its most important players.
Some think that this is too steep a price tag for Murray. But Evan Turner is not one of them. He took to social media to state that the Nuggets guard is more than deserving of this sizable extension.
Since recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in 2021, Murray has been a key player for the Nuggets alongside Nikola Jokic.
Last season, the 27-year-old averaged 21.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Murray also had some big moments in the postseason, most notably his game-winner over Anthony Davis in round one.
