Fans hilariously react to strange video capturing Draymond Green's spooky pass to Klay Thompson: "MJ never did this", "Voodoo Magnolia!"
Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have been teammates since the 2012-2013 season, when they were in their first and second years in the league, respectively. The long-time teammates shocked fans with a play that they pulled off during the first quarter of the Golden State Warriors' 143-141 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
Twitter user @sidsidtoosid stated:
"Mj never did this"
@HummyLong blamed voodoo, stating:
"Voodoo Magnolia!"
@STRICTLYWS described the play, pointing out how the angle prevented the camera from capturing the pass:
"Bounce pass right at this moment when klay’s body blocks the angle"
@MykhailoVersta attributed the play to the two long-time teammates comfort level with one another:
"sometimes it happens when you're good at the game and you've been playing together for a while"
@BrokeManSports claimed that Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins saw the entire play:
"This is some sneaky sneaky ball movement but John Collins saw it the whole time"
While there are plenty of interesting theories as to how the pass was made, @STRICTLYWS is correct in his assessment that the angle of Klay Thompson's body prevented the camera from seeing Draymond Green's pass. If there is another camera angle present, it would likely validate the theory.

Klay Thompson's big night led the Golden State Warriors to victory
The Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks played a thrilling double overtime contest on Tuesday night. The game came down to the final play as Warriors center Kevon Looney made a buzzer beating tip in to give Golden State a 143-141 victory.
While Looney made the play of the game, it was Klay Thompson who was the star of the night. Thompson erupted for 54 points, the second-highest total of his career. It was also his first 50 point game since missing more than two seasons with a torn ACL followed by a torn achilles. Thompson shot 21-39 from the field, 10-21 from 3-point range, and 2-2 from the free-throw line.
The 2022-2023 season has been up and down for the five-time All-Star. While Thompson is averaging 20.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, his efficiency has taken a step back in the first half of the season. He has shot 41.2% from the field and 38.6% from 3-point range, both of which are below his career-averages.
