LeBron James put on a show in the Drew League yesterday. It was his first appearance at the event since 2011.

He teamed up with Chicago Bulls superstar DeMar DeRozan and dominated against Black Pearl Elite, leading his team to a two-point win.

Dion Wright, who was tasked with guarding the veteran, said he matched up well with him. Wright scored a point for every two that the Lakers forward scored, ending the night with 20.

He dropped 40 I had 20 for every 2 points he had I had 1 . . . That’s really a once in a lifetime player we had no nba guys they had 2 and only loss by 2 points if bron doesn’t show up we win for sure twitter.com/bleacherreport…

Fans were quick to roast Wright for his comments. Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter:

Although the Drew League isn't often graced by NBA players, it still boasts a wealth of talented individuals. This creates a good platform for NBA players to work on their craft ahead of a grueling season.

Ahead of his 20th season in the NBA, James looked in great shape as he put in a vintage performance in the Drew League. The 37-year-old recorded 42 points and 16 rebounds to lead his team to victory. He was at his playmaking best, enabling his teammates while creating shots for himself.

Although he shot poorly from beyond the arc, he finished 18-36 from the field. DeRozan, meanwhile, had 30 points and 14 rebounds.

James will look to continue working on his game ahead of the new NBA season. The Lakers forward is in the final year of his contract and will hope to walk away with another title under his belt.
