The rivalry between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors has fans excited
On Sunday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Warriors 123-109 as part of the NBA's five-game Christmas Day lineup. Many thought Memphis would get an easy win as Golden State was without Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. However, things took a turn as Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson carried the Warriors.
Throughout the entire game, the energy inside the Chase Center was intense. Memphis was poised to win, but Poole's shooting gene took over the entire game. The fourth-year guard had 32 points while shooting 44.0% before getting ejected early in the fourth period.
It is notable that both teams dislike the other squad. In addition to the impressive performances, a plethora of technical fouls were handed out throughout the game. Thompson even taunted Dillon Brooks as he nailed a midrange jumper which had the arena roaring.
Out of all the Christmas games, the game between the Warriors and the Grizzlies lived up to the hype. It did not disappoint as the players were chippy against each other and the atmosphere was similar to a playoff game.
Memphis struggled to stay away from foul trouble early, which caused Jaren Jackson Jr. to only play 20 minutes.
Their rivalry is one of the great things about the NBA, and fans want to see them both play against each other again in the postseason.
