Fans send in rib-tickling reactions as Markieff Morris and Jeremy Sochan square off during Brooklyn Nets vs San Antonio Spurs

Tuesday night's NBA action saw sparks fly as Markieff Morris and Jeremy Sochan got into an altercation during the Brooklyn Nets vs San Antonio Spurs game. With Morris and Sochan bumping heads early in the game, fans on Twitter couldn't resist sending in their reactions to the display.

The Raptors-Bucks game also saw a strange altercation between Brooke Lopez and Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. However, the showdown between Morris and Sochan was far more aggressive.

The situation arose from the pressure that had built throughout the game. The game was a close contest until the second quarter. While the Nets pulled away by a small margin, both teams sensed the rising tension.

At this point, a simple screen-and-roll action became the flashpoint for the altercation. As Nets star Ben Simmons brought the ball up, Morris set up a screen on Sochan, who was guarding Simmons.

Morris' screen came off a bit strong as he leaned in and shoved the Spurs rookie, resulting in Sochan taking a tumble to the floor. However, Sochan also hooked his arm with the veteran's to drag him down with him.

As both hit the floor, the two immediately got up and went at each other. Spurs center Zach Collins got involved and immediately shoved Morris away from his teammate. Officials came in to deal with the situation but the benches had already been cleared at this point.

With Brooklyn coming up short in San Antonio, the Spurs may have benefitted from the altercation. The Nets continue to struggle without their superstar Kevin Durant and another loss in the books spells disappointment for them.

Jeremy Sochan riles up the Brooklyn Nets

San Antonio Spurs rookie Jeremy Sochan played a huge role in the altercation on Tuesday night. While he was directly involved as well, Sochan played a major role in causing things to flare up.

Early in the second quarter, Sochan hit an important three-pointer to close the gap between the Spurs and the Nets. While this may seem like a fairly ordinary incident, the rookie was seen talking trash to Markieff Morris on his way down the floor.

With Morris responding in kind, Sochan managed to hold his own when things went down with the veteran. Several fans also dubbed the rookie as the second coming of Dennis Rodman in San Antonio. Sochan is definitely making a name for himself.

Following the altercation, Markieff Morris was charged with an offensive foul for the play. However, for the response, Jeremy Sochan was also given a flagrant foul penalty 1.

While such a situation would have had an adverse impact on the young Spurs team, San Antonio managed to walk away with the win. As Spurs forward Keldon Johnson led the scoring charge, the team recorded a 106-98 win against the Nets.
