Kevin Durant became emotional when speaking about the Brooklyn Nets
Kevin Durant's time with the Brooklyn Nets was a roller coaster of emotions. The Nets attempted to win the title with Durant leading the way and Kyrie Irving and James Harden as his supporting cast. However, things did not pan out that way and the core has now been broken up.
Durant became emotional while talking about his time in Brooklyn. He admitted that while the team did not accomplish their goals, he would forever be grateful for the support they gave him during a tough period in his life.
"It was a lot of ups and downs.. We didn’t accomplish what we wanted to. I get emotional talking about it because it was a special 4 years of my career coming off an Achilles injury. They helped me through a lot... they got a bright future," Durant said.
Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons and Irving was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks. The disgruntled star ended up only playing 143 games for the Nets in a span of four seasons. Durant himself was shipped to the Suns at the deadline in a move that sent shockwaves through the NBA.
