"First Mark Cuban and now Joe Biden" — Former Mavericks VP gives basketball analogy to Democratic Party's recent kerfuffle

Former Mavericks executive Haralabos Voulgaris, reacted to rapper Cardi B "replacing' Mark Cuban as a top speaker for Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. The Democratic Party presidential nominee has dealt with some eyebrow-raising comments made by high-profile people supporting her, including U.S. President Joe Biden.

After Cardi B showed up at a Harris rally on Friday, Voulgaris made fun of Cuban and Biden's situations with an NBA analogy.

"First Mark Cuban and now Joe Biden, imagine being told to take a seat on the bench and then watching Cardi B stroll up to the scorers table to sub in," he tweeted on Saturday.

This is a response to Biden reacting to a comedian who supports Trump, who made a joke about Puerto Rico and labeled the country as a "floating island of garbage." The president appeared on a call and had a strong response to that joke, saying that the only garbage he saw were Trump supporters.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said on Tuesday, per the NY Post. “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American.”

Two days later, Cuban found himself in hot water after making another remark that didn't sit well with Trump supporters. The Dallas Mavericks minority owner implied that women who support Trump aren't strong or smart.

“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” Cuban said on ABC’s “The View” Thursday.
“It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them. Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”

Cardi B was brought to speak on behalf of Harris on Friday, which led to Voulgaris' joke.

Mark Cuban engaged in back-and-forth with former Mavericks executive on X

In September, Mark Cuban and Haralabos Voulgaris, who once served as the Mavericks' director of quantitative research and development, went at it over Elon Musk's X ownership.

It all started when Cuban questioned why a poll about who people would prefer their kids to emulate between Trump and Harris, got more votes than expected engagement and finished with a Trump victory.

After Cuban suggested that anonymous accounts should be deleted from the platform, Voulgaris said that it was a dictatorial move. When Cuban replied by saying that Musk is the one who dictates freedom on X, Voulgaris said he could look for another platform where he feels freer.
