Former No. 2 pick Evan Turner calls out 'Diddy Combs' after video of him allegedly beating ex-girlfriend leaks

Legendary rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been in the limelight for the wrong reasons this year. In March 2024, federal agents raided his two mansions in Los Angeles as part of what was reportedly a “sex trafficking” investigation. Combs was also stopped by police before leaving for the Bahamas but has not been charged with a crime by federal prosecutors.

Four months before authorities descended on his properties without warning, Combs was accused by her longtime partner Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura of physical abuse in 2016.

The R&B artist, who worked under Combs’ “Bad Boy” productions, also alleged that she was sexually assaulted. One day after the allegations were filed, Ventura and Diddy reached an agreement to settle the case.

On Friday, CNN released footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs hitting Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. What happened in the clip matched with the details Ventura wrote in her lawsuit last year that was eventually settled off the court.

Former NBA player Evan Turner reacted to the viral clip and posted on X, formerly Twitter:

“Diddy bogus”

Three other women besides Cassandra Ventura had the same accusations leveled at Combs.

Unsurprisingly, he defended himself and called the lawsuits “sickening allegations” and declared that his accusers were after “a quick payday.” The music producer’s lawyer declared once an undisclosed amount had been used to settle Ventura’s allegations that the settlement was not an admission of guilt.

CNN’s tape, though, has brought only added attention to Sean “Diddy Combs.” The rapper reportedly managed to buy the footage from the now-closed InterContinental Hotel Century in LA for $50,000. Until the said network released the clip, most were wondering about the captured incident from the hotel’s CCTV.

The NBA once had Sean "Diddy" Combs as a guest in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game

In 2014, the NBA wanted to spice up the NBA All-Star Game by bringing in artists Sean “Diddy” Combs, Nelly, Busta Rhymes and Pharrell Williams.

The quartet, as expected, had the fans on their feet, hyping them up for the introduction of the players. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony were the starters for the East.

The hip-hop hitmakers also called to stage the West team led by Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love. The crowd of 14,727 thoroughly enjoyed the number and the energy carried over into the game.

Sean “Diddy” Combs later added that he had a chance to dance with “King James,” backstage, something that he said was “surreal.”

With the way things are going, it doesn’t look like “Puff Daddy” will be on the NBA’s invitation list anytime soon.
