“Free GloLillard”: Damian Lillard’s ex Kay’La posts cryptic story roasting artist GloRilla after bold move on All-Star
Milwaukee Bucks All-Star guard Damian Lillard's ex-wile Kay'La took aim at rapper GloRilla, who was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI in Georgia. She shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story trolling the artist, perhaps in response to Glo making a move on her former NBA superstar husband.
According to the police report, GloRilla, whose legal name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was apprehended in Suwanee, just outside of Atlanta, during a routine traffic stop. Upon inspection, officers noticed the smell of marijuana and alcohol, which led to the 24-year-old rapper being hailed to the police station and detained.
Amid the trouble that GloRilla was facing, Kay'La found an opening to make fun of the situation, reposting Glo's mugshot on IG with a caption:
"Free GloLillard. #sisterwife."
Check out her post as shared by NBA Retweet on X (formerly Twitter):
Interestingly, the post came weeks after GloRilla posted a photo of her and Damian Lillard on X at the All-Star Weekend festivities in February in Indiana. She captioned the now-deleted post:
"Who man is this? Cause I want him #getemglo. ... Whoever she is can't whoop me so I don't really give af."
Damian Lillard and Kay'La are in the process of getting divorced
Damian Lillard and former wife Kay'La are in the process of getting divorced after just two years of marriage. 'Dame' filed for divorce back in October, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for seeking the dissolution of their union.
The two got married in September 2021 and have three children together, namely Damian Jr, 6, and twins Kalii and Kali, 3. They met each other in college at Weber State in Utah.
Lillard filed for divorce days after he was traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team trade that also involved the Phoenix Suns.
The 33-year-old eight-time NBA All-Star shared that it has been a difficult situation to go through divorce and play in a new environment. He made his sentiments known in an interview with Yahoo Sports that came out in February, saying:
"As much as I love basketball, and I love my job, I don't care about it more than I care about my kids. Of course you carry it with you. People say, 'When I hoop I ain't thinking about nothing,' but I'm not 21. I got three kids. I'm tight with my family and I'm going through a divorce."
As Damian Lillard deals with personal challenges, he is also preparing to help the Bucks in their upcoming NBA playoff first-round series against the Indiana Pacers.
He is set to be the focal point, with fellow All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to be out in the early part of the series as he continues to deal with the left calf injury he suffered late in their regular season campaign.
Damian Lillard has averaged 24.3 points, seven assists, 4.4 rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes of play per game in 73 games for Milwaukee, the third-seeded team in the Eastern Conference with a 49-33 record.
Their first-round series with Indiana begins on April 21, Sunday, in Milwaukee.
