"Frozone & Mr. Incredible" - Kyrie Irving approves fan-given moniker for his & Luka Doncic's dad duo on Father's Day

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic's Dallas Mavericks blew out the Boston Celtics 122-84 during Friday's Game 4 NBA Finals matchup. Afterward, their fathers, Drederick Irving and Sasa Doncic, shared a wholesome embrace. On Sunday, Kyrie reviewed the moment for Father's Day, seemingly approving a fan-given moniker for the dad duo.

Trailing 3-0 and facing elimination, Dallas responded with a historic 38-point home victory to extend the series to at least five games. Boston trailed by as many as 48 points, its biggest deficit of the season. Moreover, the 17-time champion's 38-point defeat marked its largest in 23 finals appearances and the third-largest in finals history.

Irving and Doncic led the way, combining for 50 points before checking out in the third quarter. Following the final buzzer, their fathers side-hugged and locked hands in a head-to-head exchange, smiling and laughing in an apparent mix of joy and relief.

The moment went viral on social media, with fans likening them to the cartoon superheroes Frozone and Mr. Incredible from "The Incredibles."

Irving appeared to be a fan of the trending nickname, as he referenced it while showing appreciation for his and Doncic's fathers on Father's Day.

"What a wholesome moment," Irving said. "Frozone and Mr. Incredible. Otherwise known as my dad and Luka's dad sharing an embrace watching their sons and their team do well. You know, they've sacrificed a lot for us to be here, so shout out to them, especially on this Father's Day, man."

Kyrie Irving highlights importance of enjoying moment after Mavericks extend NBA Finals in front of his and Luka Doncic's fathers

The Mavericks were able to send the finals back to Boston for Monday's Game 5 showdown, much to Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic's fathers' apparent enjoyment. However, they still trail the series 3-1 and face the daunting task of becoming the first team in 157 tries to overcome a 3-0 playoff series deficit.

Irving was part of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship team that became the first squad to overcome a 3-1 finals deficit against the Golden State Warriors. So, the eight-time All-Star knows what it takes to make a historic comeback.

After Sunday's practice, Irving touched on his and Dallas' mindset facing elimination on the road against the league's No. 1 team. He highlighted his desire for them to make the most of the opportunity.

"What I'm sharing with my teammates now is just enjoy the moment," Irving said. "We got a chance to accomplish one of our goals, which is to make it back to Boston. We have another goal in front of us, and that's to make it back to Dallas."

Friday's victory ended Irving's 13-game losing streak against the Celtics (regular-season and postseason). So, he will look to start a rare winning streak against his former team on Monday and keep the Mavericks' championship hopes alive.
